Step 1: Define Selection Criteria

General Criteria (for all categories):

• Proven expertise in their respective domains.
• Commitment to sustainability and community development.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.
• Alignment with the goals of the WE HEAL THE EARTH Movement.
• Ability to dedicate time and resources to the local committee's initiatives.

Specific Criteria by Category:

1. Government Officials:

• Experience in policy-making or program implementation related to water, environment, health, or education.
• Active involvement in community development initiatives.

2. Industry Leaders:

• Experience in leading organizations aligned with sustainability, circular economy, or social impact.
• Track record of supporting CSR initiatives or public-private partnerships.

3. NGO Founders:

• Demonstrated impact through grassroots initiatives in community upliftment, environmental conservation, or social entrepreneurship.
• Strong networks and partnerships with local stakeholders.

4. Education Institution Founders:

• Leadership in creating innovative education models or programs for social and environmental impact.
• Experience in skill development, capacity building, or research aligned with the movement's goals.

Step 2: Open Nominations and Applications

Invite nominations from stakeholders, existing network members, and relevant organizations.

Open an application portal where interested individuals can submit their profiles.

Required Documents:

• Resume/CV
• Statement of Purpose (max 500 words) explaining their interest in the committee and how they align with the movement’s goals.
• Portfolio of past projects or contributions.
• Reference letter from a credible organization or peer.

Step 3: Evaluation and Shortlisting

Evaluation Team: A selection panel comprising members from the Academy of Social Franchising and the WE HEAL THE EARTH leadership team.

Evaluation Process:

Round 1: Profile Screening

• Screen applications based on alignment with criteria.
• Select top 5 candidates from each category for the next round.

Round 2: Interview

• Conduct structured interviews to assess their commitment, vision, and mentorship capability.

Key Questions:

• What motivates you to mentor changemakers?
• How do you see yourself contributing to the WE HEAL THE EARTH movement?
• Share a project or initiative where you successfully mentored or led a team.

Step 4: Final Selection and Confirmation

• Select 2 representatives from each category based on their performance in the evaluation process.
• Inform selected members and confirm their availability and commitment through a formal letter of appointment.

Step 5: Induction and Orientation

Objective: Familiarize committee members with their roles, responsibilities, and the goals of the movement.

Orientation Session:

• Overview of the WE HEAL THE EARTH movement and Social Franchising Academy.
• Role expectations as mentors and local committee members.

Resource Kit:

• Program structure.
• Key challenges and opportunities in the focus areas.
• Guidelines for effective mentorship.

Step 6: Ongoing Engagement

• Mentor-Mentee Program: Assign mentees (social entrepreneurs or franchisees) to committee members.
• Regular Meetings: Host quarterly meetings to review progress, share updates, and refine strategies.
• Feedback Mechanism: Create a system for mentees to provide feedback on mentorship quality, ensuring continuous improvement.
